Features

What Custom Currency Conversion gives you

Automatic Background Processing

Runs on Blesta's cron with no manual upkeep, so everything stays up to date on its own.

Per-Company Configuration

Configure it independently for each brand on a multi-company install, so every company runs with its own settings.

Fully Translatable

Every staff and client label ships in editable language files, ready to translate into any language or reword to match your brand.

Preview Before You Commit

See exactly what would change against your live data before anything is written, so a new configuration can be checked rather than trusted.

Optional Transfer Price Conversion

Decide whether domain transfer prices are converted along with everything else, or leave them untouched when you set transfer pricing by hand.

Run It On Demand

Save And Run Conversion applies your settings to every package and currency immediately, so you can react to a rate move without waiting for the next scheduled run.

Per-Currency Rounding and Markup

Override the rounding, target ending, decimal precision and markup for individual currencies, while every currency you leave alone keeps following your global settings.

Selective Scope

Limit the scheduled conversion to chosen packages and chosen currencies so hand-priced products are never overwritten, while a manual run still covers everything when you want it to.

Generate Missing Pricings

Clone the terms and periods you already sell in your default currency into any other currencies in one step, so a newly added currency has pricing rows ready for the converter to fill.

Percentage or Flat Markup

Pad the original price by a whole-number percentage or a whole-number fixed amount before it is converted, so exchange spread and card costs are built into every converted price instead of eating your margin.

Full Conversion Log

Every price the plugin changes is recorded with its old and new value, currency, field, date and whether it came from the schedule or a manual run, on its own paginated tab. Choose how many days of history to keep, or keep it forever.

Input Rounding for High-Rate Currencies

Round the original price to a chosen precision before converting, so currencies with large exchange rates such as INR, RSD or JPY land on tidy figures instead of odd ones. The precision is configurable so small prices are not rounded away.

Automatic Cross-Currency Pricing

Package and configurable option prices in your additional currencies are recalculated from the matching default-currency price using your stored exchange rates, covering price, renewal price, setup fee and cancellation fee so no currency is left sitting on a stale rate.

Clean, Sellable Price Endings

Pick the rounding direction (up, down, nearest, or nearest decimal) and the exact ending to land on, so converted prices read as 9.99 or 9.95 instead of 9.87. A price too small to carry the chosen ending rounds up to it rather than below zero. One-click presets set both for you, or switch to Custom and set them by hand.

Custom Currency Conversion

Keep every non-default currency price accurate and clean, converted from your base price on your own exchange rates and rounded the way you actually sell.

What it does

Selling in multiple currencies usually means either leaving converted prices to drift out of date, or manually re-pricing every package by hand whenever a rate moves. Custom Currency Conversion does that work for you: it takes your package and configurable option prices in your default currency, converts them into every other currency you sell in using your own stored exchange rates, and rounds the result to a clean, sellable ending like 9.99 instead of an odd figure like 9.87. It runs automatically on Blesta's cron, so your non-default-currency prices stay current without you touching them.

Key features

  • Automatic Cross-Currency Pricing: Package and configurable option prices in your additional currencies are recalculated from the matching default-currency price using your stored exchange rates, covering price, renewal price, setup fee and cancellation fee so no currency is left sitting on a stale rate.
  • Clean, Sellable Price Endings: Pick the rounding direction (up, down, nearest, or nearest decimal) and the exact ending to land on, so converted prices read as 9.99 or 9.95 instead of 9.87. A price too small to carry the chosen ending rounds up to it rather than below zero. One-click presets set both for you, or switch to Custom and set them by hand.
  • Percentage or Flat Markup: Pad the original price by a whole-number percentage or a whole-number fixed amount before it is converted, so exchange spread and card costs are built into every converted price instead of eating your margin.
  • Input Rounding for High-Rate Currencies: Round the original price to a chosen precision before converting, so currencies with large exchange rates such as INR, RSD or JPY land on tidy figures instead of odd ones.
  • Per-Currency Rounding and Markup: Override the rounding, target ending, decimal precision and markup for individual currencies, while every currency you leave alone keeps following your global settings.

  • Selective Scope: Limit the scheduled conversion to chosen packages and chosen currencies so hand-priced products are never overwritten, while a manual run still covers everything when you want it to.
  • Generate Missing Pricings: Clone the terms and periods you already sell in your default currency into any other currencies in one step, so a newly added currency has pricing rows ready for the converter to fill.

Installing and updating extensions can now be done automatically through the Blesta Club Subscription Manager - this is the recommended way going forward.

Installing Custom Currency Conversion

Before you start

  • If you are on the leased (subscription) licence, the Blesta Club Subscription Manager must be installed and your subscription active. The owned and owned-source licences have no such requirement.

1. Upload the files

Upload the extension folder into your Blesta installation so it lands under your Blesta directory at:

plugins/custom_currency_conversion/

For example, on a typical install: /var/www/html/blesta/plugins/custom_currency_conversion/

2. Install it in Blesta

  1. Log in to your Blesta admin area with a staff account that has the Plugins permission (under the Settings group in Manage Staff Groups), specifically its Install Plugin and Manage Plugin sub-permissions.
  2. Go to Settings > Company > Plugins and click the Available tab.
  3. Find Custom Currency Conversion in the list and click Install.

3. Configure it

  1. Once installed, find Custom Currency Conversion on the Installed tab and click Manage.
  2. There are no API credentials to enter - the plugin reads the exchange rates you already have set up under Settings > Company > Currencies, so make sure those are accurate before you turn conversion on.
  3. Set your rounding, markup and any per-currency overrides you want, then click Save. The plugin registers its own cron task automatically on install and runs on its own from then on - no separate cron setup is needed.
  4. Before your first run, make sure every package (and configurable option) you want converted already has a pricing row in the target currency - even a placeholder at 0. If it doesn't yet, use the plugin's built-in Generate pricings utility on the same page to create those rows in one step.

You're ready to go - see the usage guide for a walkthrough of day-to-day use.

Updating Custom Currency Conversion

Upgrading works just like installing: upload the new files over the old ones, then run the upgrade from the same page you installed it on.

  1. Back up your current extension files first - good practice before any upgrade.
  2. Upload the new version over the existing folder, replacing the old files.
  3. Log in to your Blesta admin area and go to Settings > Company > Plugins.
  4. Find Custom Currency Conversion and click Update to run the upgrade.

Version-specific notes

  • v2.0.0: Adds a Preview Conversion button, a conversion audit log (with a configurable retention period), Selective Scope (limit the scheduled conversion to chosen packages and currencies), and per-currency rounding and markup overrides. None of these are required settings - your existing global settings keep working exactly as before, and the new scope lists start empty, meaning the scheduled conversion still covers everything until you narrow it. This version also fixes a rounding bug that could write a negative price to the catalogue for a price below the chosen ending; if you have been running an earlier version, review your converted prices (or use the new Preview Conversion button) after upgrading.
  • v1.1.0: Adds an optional "Convert Transfer Price" setting, off by default, so existing installs keep today's behaviour (transfer prices left alone) unless you opt in. Also fixes the Input Rounding checkbox not turning back off once saved, and fixes a blank settings page title.

Beyond reviewing the notes above, this upgrade is drop-in - no manual data changes are needed.

Using Custom Currency Conversion

For your staff

Getting to the settings

Go to Settings > Company > Plugins, find Custom Currency Conversion on the Installed tab and click Manage. The page has two tabs: Settings and Conversion Log.

Global settings

  • Enabled - when unchecked, the scheduled cron run skips this plugin entirely, even though the cron task itself keeps running on schedule.
  • Round - turns rounding of the converted price on or off.
  • Rounding Preset - a quick way to set the rounding direction and target ending in one click: Charm pricing (.99), Charm pricing (.95), Nearest whole number, Round up to .00, or Closest decimal. Choose Custom to set the Round Direction and Round To fields below by hand instead.
  • Round Direction and Round To - only shown when Rounding Preset is set to Custom. Direction is Up, Down, Closest, or Round To Closest Decimal; Round To is the two-digit ending to land on (for example 99 for a price ending in .99).
  • Pad and Pad Amount - an optional whole-number percentage or flat markup applied to the original (default-currency) price before it is converted, so exchange spread or card fees are built into the converted price.
  • Convert Transfer Price - off by default. Turn this on only if you want domain transfer prices converted too; leave it off if you set transfer prices by hand in the converted currencies, since a scheduled run overwrites them otherwise.

Input Rounding

For currencies with a very high exchange rate (INR, RSD, JPY and similar), turning on Input Rounding and setting a Precision rounds the original price to that many decimal places before converting, so the result lands on a tidy figure instead of an odd one.

Selective Scope

Limit To Packages and Limit To Currencies restrict which packages and currencies the scheduled (cron) conversion is allowed to touch. Leave a list empty to include everything. This limit only applies to the automatic cron run - the Save And Run Conversion button below always runs against every package and currency, ignoring these lists.

Per-Currency Rounding & Markup

A table listing every currency configured for your company. Tick Override on a currency's row to set its own Round, Direction, Round To, Precision and Pad just for that currency; any currency you leave unticked keeps following the global settings above.

Conversion Log settings

Log Retention (days) controls how many days of conversion history are kept; older entries are trimmed automatically on each scheduled run. Set it to 0 to keep the log forever.

Saving and running

  • Save stores your settings without converting anything.
  • Save And Run Conversion stores your settings and immediately applies them to every matching package and currency - a real, irreversible price update, not a preview.
  • Preview Conversion computes and displays the changes the settings currently shown on the page would make, without saving or writing anything. Nothing is stored until you click Save or Save And Run Conversion.

Generating missing pricings

Before a currency can be converted, the package (or configurable option) needs a pricing row in that currency for the plugin to fill in - even a placeholder at 0. Under Utilities, choose your Original Currency, the currencies to generate for, and the packages and/or configurable options to generate them on, then click Generate pricings. This clones the terms and periods you already sell in the original currency into the new currency at a price of 0, ready for the next conversion run to fill in. This action cannot be undone, so it's worth a database backup first if you're running it against a large catalogue.

Reviewing the conversion log

Click the Conversion Log tab to see every price change the plugin has made: the package or configurable option, the currency, the field that changed (price, renewal price, setup fee, cancel fee or transfer price), the old and new value, whether it came from the schedule or a manual run, and when it happened.

Good to know

  • There's nothing for clients to configure - once your packages have converted pricing, clients simply see the correct price in their own currency on the order form and everywhere else Blesta shows a price, exactly as if you had priced it that way by hand.
  • The plugin never touches Blesta's stored exchange rates - it only reads them. Keep those accurate under Settings > Company > Currencies and the conversions that use them stay accurate too.
  • A currency with no usable exchange rate, or a price that would convert to zero or negative, is left alone rather than written - so a stale or missing rate can't zero out your prices.

v2.0.0 - 2026-09-11

PHP 7.2 - 7.4, 8.1 - 8.4 · Blesta 5.x

Added a Preview Conversion button to review the price changes a run would make before applying them, using the settings currently shown on the page rather than the last saved ones.
Added a conversion log recording every price change, with a configurable retention period.
Added selective scope so the scheduled conversion can be limited to chosen packages and currencies.
Added per-currency rounding and markup overrides.
Added rounding presets (charm pricing) for quicker rounding setup.
Fixed rounding to a price ending (for example .99) turning any price below that ending into a negative price, which was written to the catalogue and credited to the client on every order and renewal.
Converted prices are now sanity checked before they are written: a price that would become zero or negative is left alone, and a currency with no usable exchange rate is skipped instead of zeroing its prices.
Each package's conversion now runs as a single database transaction, so a failure partway through can no longer leave a package half converted.
Fixed the plugin settings page showing an empty box instead of an explanation when the licence could not be checked.
Fixed the pricing generator acting on packages, configurable options and currencies belonging to another company on a multi-company install.
